Summer Guest Housing

All summer housing requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis and require approval from the Office of Residence Life staff. Before completing the guest housing request form, please read all information below.

Guest Housing Accommodations

Guest housing is available on campus and runs until Friday, July 31, 2026. Summer housing guests will be assigned to a room in Ottawa East. Ottawa House consists of two buildings – Ottawa East and Ottawa West. This is a suite-style residence hall with four person suites with two double bedrooms containing a lofted twin XL bed, dresser, desk, chair, and closet space. Each suite includes a furnished living room and private bathroom. Ottawa has secured access, air-conditioning, vending machines, laundry machines, kitchens, and floor lounges. Telephone and alarm clocks are not provided.

General Residence Hall Regulations

Occupancy is a privilege extended to the guest by the University. The continuation of this privilege is dependent upon the guest’s reasonable and satisfactory personal conduct. You must abide by all University Policies.

Policies and Regulations

Guests are subject to regulations and policies in the Residence Hall Living Guide, any additional regulations, policies or standards promulgated by The University of Toledo or The State of Ohio, and the following.

Smoking is not permitted in any residence hall or university property. Guests are not permitted to possess or consume alcoholic beverages in their apartments or public areas such as hallways, lounges, and exterior spaces. Guests must abide by the residence halls and University visitation policies.

Incense, firecrackers, smoke bombs, or combustible liquids are prohibited. Use thereof will subject a guest to immediate loss of housing privileges.

Public area furniture is to remain in public areas for community use and not placed in a resident’s room/suite. Likewise, room furnishings are to remain in the guest’s room/suite/apartment. Window screens must not be removed for any reason.

All noise should be kept to reasonable minimum level 24-hours a day. This is a general courtesy to others. No noise should be heard outside of guest’s window.

Fire safety equipment (including pull stations, smoke detectors, horns, fire extinguishers, and hoses) are provided for the safety of all persons. Carelessness or intentional misuse will subject a resident to immediate loss of housing privileges.

Guests are expected to secure their keys at all times. If keys are lost, locks will be changed with the cost of a minimum of $125 per lock change being the responsibility of the guest. If issued a guest card and the card is not returned a minimum charge of $5 will be charged to the guest.

Personal Property Damage

The University assumes no responsibility for loss or damage to a Guest’s personal property. The University highly encourages all guests to get personal property insurance.

Abandoned Property/Facility Damages

Guest assumes care for the physical facilities of the residential space. Damage to the Guest’s room and furnishings will be the financial responsibility of the assigned occupant(s) of the room, if the responsible party(ies) cannot be identified. Damage to the common area of a suite will be the financial responsibility of guest, if the responsible party(ies) cannot be identified. If damage beyond normal wear and tear occurs to the public areas of the residence hall or house and it is not possible to determine the responsible party(ies), residents of the floor/suite/wing or building may share the financial responsibility for such damage.

Guests may not install or use a satellite dish, cable, wireless router or any other device or contract with any provider to run television, internet, gaming, etc. to the facilities other than what is provided by the University.

Residence Life staff will inspect the room before the guest arrives and after the guest leaves for any damage to the room. The guest will be charged for any damage that was not in the room prior to their arrival.

Key/ID Loaning and Duplication

Duplication and loaning of University-issued keys or ID cards or accommodation of unauthorized guests is prohibited. Guests found in violation will be subject to removal from guest housing, judicial action and fines.

Linen Service

Linens are NOT provided.

Payment

Payment is due at check in. We accept exact cash and checks.

Check In/Check-Out

Rooms will be ready by 11 a.m. on date of arrival. Check out is at 11 a.m. on departure date.

Safety and Security

Guests are issued door access cards. The main doors will be locked 24 hours a day and as such, guests are required to carry their access cards at all times. Resident Advisers make periodic rounds throughout the building each evening.

Parking

Guests who want to park their car on campus need a parking permit from the Park ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â. All guests should have a permit to avoid receiving a ticket. For more information about parking services contact Park ÑÇÉ«Ó°¿â at 419.530.4100 or visit the website.
